AMMANET will hold a
workshop at BECA from July 25-26, 2005, in Nairobi, Kenya. Workshop
participation will be limited to 20 people. Funding for the meeting has
been provided by the The Rockefeller Foundation.
The main goals of the
workshop are:

to identify
outstanding crop improvement/breeding problems in Africa and develop
MAS strategies to address them
-
to facilitate meeting
and interaction between scientists working in breeding and MAS so as
to investigate and develop collaborative for future research,
-
to facilitate
discussion between members on how to operationalize AMMANET activities
-
to identify
strategies of mobilizing resources to further the aims and objectives
of the network
-
to discuss and
develop grant proposal for AMMANET submission to donors.
