African Molecular Marker Applications Network 

The 2nd Meeting of The African Molecular Marker Applications Network

AMMANET will hold a workshop at BECA from July 25-26, 2005, in Nairobi, Kenya. Workshop participation will be limited to 20 people. Funding for the meeting has been provided by the The Rockefeller Foundation.

The main goals of the workshop are:

  1. to identify outstanding crop improvement/breeding problems in Africa and develop MAS strategies to address them

  2. to facilitate meeting and interaction between scientists working in breeding and MAS so as to investigate and develop collaborative for future research,

  3. to facilitate discussion between members on how to operationalize AMMANET activities

  4. to identify strategies of mobilizing resources to further the aims and objectives of the network

  5. to discuss and develop grant proposal for AMMANET submission to donors.
